Rugby Advertiser feature me handing cheque to Rugby Young Carers

In an article here, on Thursday 5 April, the Rugby Advertiser newspaper featured a photo of me handing a cheque for over £700 to Rugby Young Carers.

About my run

I'm running the Dubai Half Marathon on 23 March 2012. It kicks off at 06:30 at Dubai Golf Club. The temperature will be around 20 degrees.

I'm raising money for Rugby Young Carers, a charity in Rugby, Warwickshire, which works with children and young people between the ages of 6-18 who take responsibility for the care of a family member who is ill, has a disability, is experiencing mental distress or is affected by substance use or HIV/AIDS.

I hope you'll agree that this is a very good cause. One of the things they do, is arrange outings for the young people. I'm hoping the money I raise will go towards this.

I've previously run in several marathons: London (2004, 2007 and 2008) and Stockholm (2005); and several half marathons, including the Forest of Dean Trails, Bath, Hastings, Tewkesbury and Great South Run; as well as completiing the Worthing 20 Mile run four times. The most amazing place I've run is Jerusalem, this year.

My best full marathon time is 3hr 07mins and my best half marathon time is 1hr 29mins. Please use the poll below to predict my time (it's been a few years since I've run a half marathon!).
